Sprite Stuff: 'Mangaverse' Doc Valiant

You honestly didn't think I'd NOT participate in some way, right?

    -Great Adventurer Doctor Valiant!

1961...
    -Brilliant scientist Dr. Alexander Valiant was working on a serum intended to benefit humanity. A serum that could heal the crippled, cure the sick, and restore faculties to the mentally challenged. But it was soon realized that... if given to a perfectly healthy person, it'd grant them abilities beyond those of mortal men, birthing a veritable SUPERMAN. He soon realized that his benefactors were more interested in THAT aspect of his work, intending to use it for nefarious means. And if he didn't cooperate... were more than willing to take it by force. Not wanting to see his work utilized for those ends, the brave (and perfectly healthy) scientist injects himself with the untested (and only sample) formula. Within minutes he's bestowed with amazing strength, and enhanced durability as he begins to fight back against the hired goons sent to steal his work. A fire breaks out in the chaos, with an explosion soon following, engulfing those inside the lab. The only survivor is Doctor Valiant. With his research destroyed, and his benefactors's true faces revealed... Doctor Valiant vowed to fight such injustice, and to punish those who would use progress and advancement for the purpose of evil and greed.  


Like the thought process that went into his multiversal counterparts, I've looked for early manga/anime from the mid-20th Century. Used Osamu Tezuka's work as inspiration. Characters like Big X, Black Jack, and whatnot. As well as non-Tezuka work like Cyborg 009, Speed Racer, etc.

Used Cable, Captain America, and Strider sprites.
